What I’m Loving Lately: October Edition With Easy Steps

October feels like a deep breath after the brightness of summer. The days are slower, the light softer, and everything seems to invite a return inward. To home, to self, to quiet joy.

Here are a few things I’ve been loving this month. Small comforts, favorite objects, and grounding rituals that have made everyday life feel just a little more beautiful.

Early Mornings with Bare Feet and Silence

Stepping outside barefoot before the world wakes up. It’s still my favorite ritual. The chill in the air, the golden leaves underfoot, the sound of nothing but wind. It reminds me to begin the day slowly.

Earthy Color Palettes

Muted ochres, mossy greens, soft browns, and mineral greys have taken over my styling this month. I’ve loved building mood boards that feel grounded and textural. With just enough contrast to stay interesting.

Candlelight in the Kitchen

There’s something deeply nostalgic about lighting a candle at breakfast. It doesn’t have to be dark to bring that small flicker of peace. My current favorite? A soft fig or linen-scented soy candle.

Designing with Feeling

My favorite projects lately have started with questions like:
“What feeling do you want to come home to?”
That one question can shift an entire design.

Fall Textures Everywhere

Wool throws, linen bedding, hand-built ceramics, woven baskets. Layering has moved from closets to interiors. I’m especially loving textiles in soft clay or taupe. They warm up even the coolest rooms.

This Month’s Favorite Find

A beautiful mohair throw I found in the softest dusty plum tone. It lives draped over the arm of a vintage armchair, and every time I pass by it, I smile.

A Reminder I Keep Coming Back To

“You don’t need more. You need to notice what already feels good.”
This season, I’m choosing less noise. And more meaning.
